Jet Black Berries – Masked Astronaut

Kabar gembira bagi penggemar fiksi ilmiah ganjil yang kehabisan tontonan film kelas B. Unit rock veteran asal New York, Jet Black Berries, kembali mengaduk gudang rekaman lama mereka dan melepas tembang bertajuk Masked Astronaut dalam versi polesan anyar.

Iramanya menghentak beringas lewat hentakan drum rancak yang langsung disusupi cabikan bass tebal dan sayatan gitar berenergi psychobilly kencang. Ia melesat lurus tanpa rem, seolah pedal gasnya sengaja diinjak habis sejak detik pembuka.

Ada kenakalan komikal yang renyah saat kita diajak mengunyah liriknya. Vokal Patrick melontarkan premis koboi luar angkasa dengan bumbu horor pulp yang santai lewat baris “With a devil as his sidekick, he sleeps on asteroids / With a crystal ball for guidance and a spaceship for a horse”.

Mengasyikkan.

MASKED ASTRONAUT

With a devil as his sidekick, he sleeps on asteroids
With a crystal ball for guidance and a spaceship for a horse

He’s the masked masked astronaut
He’s the masked masked astronaut
He’s the masked masked astronaut
He’s the little-known ranger of the Milky Way, hey!

With a mask made of black mamba
Tied with Gila monster skin
From his holster hangs human bones
Death wishes they intend, he’s

He’s the masked masked astronaut
He’s the masked masked astronaut
He’s the masked masked astronaut
He’s the lone ranger of the Milky Way, hey!

From the mesa tops of Venus
To the no man’s land of space
He gets justice done flying to the sun
Shouting “Hi-ho Silver, away!” he’s the

He’s the masked masked astronaut
He’s the masked masked astronaut
He’s the masked masked astronaut
He’s the lone ranger of the Milky Way, hey!
