Sarah Katherine Lawless – Something’s In The Air

Musim panas makin panas, tapi yang paling terasa gerah justru pikiran, bukan cuacanya. Sarah Katherine Lawless bikin “Something’s In The Air” jadi lagu yang enak didengar meski isinya sebenarnya keresahan soal dunia yang terasa mulai berantakan.

Vokalnya rapi dan tegas, dibungkus produksi yang hangat dan ringan, semacam trik lama tapi selalu jitu, bikin kegelisahan terdengar catchy tanpa perlu dramatis.

“Heard the dryer caught on fire, whiffs of gasoline and tire, that shit reeks” itu detail kecil yang lucu tapi tepat sasaran, karena kadang memang begitu, hal remeh di rumah bisa jadi cermin dari kekacauan yang lebih besar. Lalu “all my friends are getting fired” mengingatkan bahwa lagu ini bukan cuma keluhan pribadi, tapi keresahan bareng, generasi yang sama-sama merasa ada yang salah tapi susah menunjuk pasti apanya.

Pengulangan “something’s in the air” jadi semacam sindiran halus, bukan tanda bahaya besar, tapi firasat kecil yang terus mengintil. Sarah Katherine Lawless pintar mengemas kecemasan jadi lagu yang malah bikin ingin diputar ulang.

Lirik Lagu Sarah Katherine Lawless – Something’s In The Air

well the summer’s getting warmer
clothes are sitting in the corner
with the bed sheets

heard the dryer caught on fire
whiffs of gasoline and tire
that shit reeks!

something’s in the air
something’s in the air

all my friends are getting fired
gone the wired straight to tired
of the time spent

closing in on lesser evil
pick a person for the people
not the bad men/man

something’s in the air
something’s in the air

are you breathing in the oil?
brushing up against the toil
for a landscape

as you frolic in the furnace
keep an eye out for the current
and the red tape

something’s in the air
something’s in in the air!
something’s in the air!!
something’s in the air!!!
something’s in the air!!!!
something’s in the air
